​​未来学について

 

未来学とは何でしょうか？

未来学は多くの学問領域の学者や研究者に関わる科学調査の学問です。世界中の大学で提供される学部生と院生向けのプログラムが数多くあります。未来を複数形の“futures”としていることに気が付き、「何でだろう、どうして単数形の"future"じゃないんだろう」と戸惑うかもしれません。

その答えは、世界未来学連盟が創設以来、未来学に複線的なアプローチを奨励し、支えてきたことにあります。この複数性、多元主義は、世界未来学連盟の会員制度やサポートする調査の多様性にも反映されています。世界未来学連盟は、たった1つの未来しかないといった考えに反証するために、未来学の英語に単数形ではなく複数形を用います。単数形の未来は、概念的に制限されるとともに、言外に政治的な意味合いを持っています。このように未来を複数あるものとして扱うことは、また別の、起こしたい未来を思い描き、つくり出すための領域を押し広げます。世界未来学連盟における未来学の主要なターゲットは、この時間の先にある望ましい結果をどのように思い描き、発展させるかについてです。
